Seasonal Configuration

Winter

Recommended configuration:

  • Comfort temperature: 20-21°C during the day
  • Nighttime temperature: 17-18°C (save up to 10%)
  • Ventilation: low-medium level (0.5 air changes/hour)

Specific tips:

  • Take advantage of thermal inertia: program to reach the comfort temperature 30 minutes before your arrival
  • Keep the blinds closed at night to conserve heat
  • Take advantage of solar radiation by opening blinds on south-facing facades during sunny hours
  • Avoid sudden temperature changes (do not increase by more than 2°C at once)

Remember: Each degree above 21°C increases consumption by approximately 7%.

Summer

Recommended configuration:

  • Comfort temperature: 25-26°C during the day
  • Night mode: 27-28°C or natural ventilation
  • Ventilation: medium level (nighttime free-cooling)

Specific tips:

  • Activate "free-cooling" mode (night ventilation) when the outside temperature is lower than the inside temperature.
  • Close blinds and shades during the hours of greatest sunlight (11am-6pm)
  • Avoid opening windows during the hottest hours of the day
  • Program the system to pre-cool the house before your arrival

Remember: Each degree below 25°C increases consumption by approximately 8-10%.

Spring

Recommended configuration:

  • Transition mode: morning heating only if needed
  • Comfort temperature: 22-23°C
  • Ventilation: medium-high level to take advantage of outdoor temperatures

Specific tips:

  • Activate "fan only" mode without climate control on mild days
  • Take advantage of natural cross ventilation
  • Use the timer to heat only in the mornings on cool days

Autumn

Recommended configuration:

  • Transition mode: gradual use of heating
  • Comfort temperature: 21-22°C
  • Ventilation: medium level with heat recovery activated

Specific tips:

  • Start with short heating schedules (morning and night)
  • Make sure the heat recovery unit is in winter mode
  • Make the most of the last hours of sunlight by properly managing your blinds.

Frequently Asked Questions about Maintenance

How often should I change the ventilation system filters?

The filters in a mechanically controlled ventilation system should be changed approximately every 3 months. However, this period may vary depending on the environmental conditions in your area (more frequently in areas with high levels of dust or pollution). A clogged filter significantly reduces the system's efficiency and increases energy consumption.

Is it normal for the outdoor unit of an air source heat pump to make noise or vibrate?

The outdoor unit of an air source heat pump generates a moderate level of noise during normal operation due to the compressor and fan. However, excessive vibrations or abnormal noises (whistling, knocking, loud buzzing) may indicate a problem. In that case, contact technical support for a check-up. An annual preventative maintenance check will help avoid these issues.

How can I tell if the underfloor heating is working correctly?

A properly functioning underfloor heating system should provide a uniform temperature throughout the room. If you notice cold or excessively hot areas, there may be air in the system or a circulation problem. Check the system pressure at the manifold (it should be between 1 and 1.5 bar) and ensure all circuits are open. Annual system bleeding is essential for proper operation.

Should I completely shut down the systems when I'm going to be away for several days?

For short absences (up to a week), it's more efficient not to turn off the systems completely, but to configure them in "away" or "eco" mode, which maintains minimum temperatures (16-17°C in winter) to prevent condensation problems and ensure lower energy consumption upon your return. For longer absences, you can turn off the air conditioning but maintain a minimum level of ventilation for air renewal.

Why is an annual check-up by a professional important?

Annual servicing allows for the detection of potential problems before they become serious breakdowns. Technicians check pressures, flow rates, temperatures, and operating parameters that are not accessible to the user. Furthermore, annual servicing is required to maintain equipment warranties and can result in energy savings of up to 10-15% by optimizing systems.
